These finger puppets were made by my 10 year old daughter - with a little help from her mum! They are part of a school project to make finger puppets out of whatever material you may choose. I have to say I love the Pound Shop and Poundland and this is where we found a large pack of googly eyes and a pack of A4 felt in all sorts of different colours. Bargain!
As you can see from the picture we made a Pig puppet, Frog puppet, Parrot Puppet, Penguin puppet, Polar bear puppet and an elephant puppet.
Materials Needed:
- Felt in various colours
- Googly eyes
- Cotton & needle
- Glue gun/ PVA/ Fabric glue
- Permanent Marker Pen
Get Making!
- First of all we found a body template on the wonderful Pinterest site and printed it out. This was easily adaptable for each animal.
- Draw around the body x 2- adapting the shape to suit your animal.
- Next you need to sew the two body parts together leaving a gap at the bottom for your finger. Alternatively you could glue the pieces together.
- Glue on your googly eyes, and body parts and draw on any other details. We used a black permanent marker for this.
- Your done, its that simple! Enjoy your puppets and make some great stories to act out!
x Please just be careful with the glue if doing this project with young children x
